Accountant Expert

What will you do?

As part of our dedicated Insurance Accounting Team, you will work alongside 8 skilled professionals responsible for technical accounts and analysis for our insurance companies, including pension funds. As Accountant Expert, next to some operational tasks, you’ll be part of projects to continuously improve our processes. Actively contribute to our SimpliFi transformation program, a major strategic initiative in which we are modernizing and streamlining our financial landscape by transitioning our current accounting platform to SAP S/4HANA. This involves supporting process improvements, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and helping ensure a smooth and successful implementation of the new system

Your responsibilities:

• Contribute to the Monthly and Quarterly closing under different accounting GAAPs, IFRS 9/17 and Solvency 2.
• Perform Key controls (reconciliation, analytical reviews…).
• Provide disclosures to annual accounts including statistical information.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and simplification of our processes and controls.
• Collaborate daily with other Departments (Finance, Operations…).
• Develop the use of AI in our organization.

In addition, you are entitled to:

• A gross monthly salary between €4.743, - and €6.841, - based on a 38-hours workweek;
• 8% holiday pay and a gratuity of 12.5% of annual salary;
• 25 holidays based on a 38-hour working week and the possibility of accruing 13-ADV days;
• A good home working allowance;
• NS Business card for all forms of public transport that you can use 24/7 (including private), or a travel allowance.

Is this you?

You have strong analytical skills to understand the logic and trends behind the numbers and can communicate this in an understandable way to different levels in the organization. Furthermore, you have a solution-oriented mindset and proactive approach to problem solving. You have a structured workstyle and pay attention to details.

Furthermore, you bring:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance and/or insurance (accounting, controlling, actuarial, audit).
• A University Degree (preferably Accounting, Economics or Finance).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English and Dutch (minimum B2) 
• Knowing IFRS 17/9 regulation, knowledge of SAP would be a plus
